About Us

Giorgio Zamponi was born in Macerata, the son of a farmer and a housewife in the Macerata countryside but given the work aspirations of the young giorgio, the family soon moved to casette d'ete di Sant 'Elpidio a Mare in the heart of the Marche footwear district where it began in the late in the 60s to work as an apprentice shoemaker and shortly thereafter he opened a small workshop for the production of women's shoes; in a few years the production grows and specializes in classic women's shoes and together with his brother he founded Zatos and launched the brand throughout the Italian market; in 1994 he left Zatos and founded Calzature Zamponi Giorgio srl at the new production plant in Montecosaro in the Macerata area and with the new Giorgio Zamponi brand the collections expanded and modernized and the brand gradually entered the European foreign market (in France in particular) where Giorgio Zamponi shoes are appreciated for quality, attention to detail and comfort.

Between the end of the 90s and the early 2000s, the sons Daniele and Alessio joined the company and the production changes and diversifies to follow the new trends of the foreign market which over the years grows up to absorb almost all of the production which still remains artisanal with careful attention to detail and work is still mainly done by hand by skilled craftsmen.

Today the Giorgio Zamponi brand boasts a constant presence in the market of handcrafted and quality women's footwear for almost three decades with a production completely made in Italy in all its phases and each pair of footwear produced is aimed at a dynamic woman attentive to details and quality without sacrificing comfort and new fashion trends.
